So, young stalkers, you would like to learn what all of those game skills do and which of them you would like to upgrade? Then this guide is right what you need.

But first of all, a bit of basics. There are 3 types of skill groups with 5-6 skill in each of them. And each skill has different perks inside of it. You may learn a perk by clicking on it, if you have enough of free perks points. Skills groups are: Battle, Surviving, Support . They all have different types of XP. You can see skills window by pressing "k".

1)How can i gain XP?
As I mentioned before, each skill group has a special type of XP. Here are some ways of getting each type of them.
-----Battle
-Completing quests
-Slaying monsters
-----Surviving
-Completing quests
-Taking artefacts from anomalies(not from dead stalkers)
-----Support
-Completing quests
-Using medkits
-Repairing items
-Crafting items

Now we are ready to talk about upgrading skills itself.

1)Battle skills

Pistols - the skill for basic one handed weapon. Not effective, but cheap. I would not recommend you to upgrade this skill, except you dont have any other weapon.

Trowing - gives you an ability to trow grenades on far distanceses and increases your grenades damage. The last perk increases your strenth(ability to carry big weights)

Assult rifles - with this skill your assault rifles(like AK74, FN FAL, Groza and so on) have better accuracy of fire and speed of reloading.

Rifles and melee guns - gives you ability to reload faster, shoot better and faster. Nothing special, but extremely effective

Critical hit - there is not much to say. Each skill upgrade and perk gives you a higher critical hit damage and chance

Heavy weapon - turns your minigun or grenade launcher into a real monster! Increases damage, critical hit chance, decreases reloading time.

2)Surviving

Physical preparation - helps you to run faster and carry more heavy stuff

Anomalies discovery - out of order

Discover - out of order

Metabolism - gives you more HP and makes you more enduraced

Stealth - out of order

3)Support

Repair - gives you ability to repair items. Each upgraded repair perk(that one with wrench) enables more and more diffucult items to be repaired

Modification - please, see our crafting guide for some info about this skill

Precision - makes your weapon breaking slower. Choose a perk with your type of weapon on the picture to enable its effect.

Packing - a favorite skill of every RPG player. Makes your char carrying around twice more, then he usually does.

Medecine - makes medkits heal better

Luck - decreases a chance of dropping loot from you. It doesnt increase a chance of falling loot from other stalkers, critical and any other stuff

4)Main skills builds:
-----PvP warrior build:
-Heavy Weapon
-Phys. prep. or metabolism
-Luck and precision
-----Monster slayer build:
-Rifles
-Phys. Prep.
-Packing and medecine(or precision)
-----Artefacts hunter build:
-Assult rifles
-Phys. prep.
-Medecine and luck
------Crafters build:
-Rifles or assult rifles
-doesnt matter
-Repair/craft

Perks description(the names of the perks are given in the same order as on the skill line):

1.Battle
------Pistols:
-Quick equiping of light weapon(available at 10, dicreases time of equiping for 30%)
-Quick reloading(available at 20, decreases time of reloading for 30%)
-Perception upgrade(available at 50, upgrades perception +1)
-----Grenades
-Length of throw(available at 20. increases lenth of throw)
-Fast throw(available at 30, let you to throw 2 grenades per 1 time)
-Strenth upgrade(available at 50, upgrades strenth +1)
-----Assault rifles
-Quick equiping of assault rifles(available at 10, dicreases time of equiping for 30%)
-Quick reloading(available at 20, decreases time of reloading for 30%)
-Perception upgrade(available at 50, upgrades perception +1)
-----Rifles and melee
-Quick equiping of rifles(available at 10, decreases time of equiping for 30%)
-Quick reloading(available at 20, decreases time of reloading for 30%)
-Critical hit damage(available at 40, increases critical hit damage for 10%)
-Perception upgrade(available at 50, upgrades perception +1)
-Camper(available at 60, makes it easier to shoot while standing still)
-Critical hit damage(available at 70, increases critical hi damage for 40%)
-----Critical hit
-Critical hit damage(available at 40, increases critical hit damage for 10%)
-Endurance upgrade(available at 50, upgrades endurance +1)
-Critical hit damage(available at 70, increases critical hi damage for 40%)
-----Heavy weapon
-Quick equiping of heavy weapon(available at 10, dicreases time of equiping for 30%)
-Quick reloading(available at 20, dicreases time of reloading for 30%)
-Critical hit chance(available at 30, increases critical hit chance for 5%)
-Critical hit chance(available at 40, increases critical hit chance for 8%)
-Strenth upgrade(available at 50, upgrades strenth +1)
-Critical hit chance(available at 60, increases critical hit chance for 9%)
-Critical hit chance(available at 70, increases critical hit chance for 8%)

2.Surviving
-----Physical preparation
-Runner(available at 10, increases speed of the run for 20%)
-Ironskin(available at 30, decreases damage for 20%)
-Stunning resistance(available at 40, decreases stun time for 20%)
-Strenth upgrade(available at 50, upgrades strenth +1)
-----Anomalies discovery
-Intellect upgrade(available at 50, upgrades intellect +1)
-----Discovery
-Perception upgrade(available at 50, upgrades perception +1)
-----Metabolism
-Negative effects resistance(available at 40, decreases time of negative effects for 30%)
-Endurance upgrade(available at 50, upgrades endurance +1)
-----Stealth
-Hiding while overloaded(available at 30, makes it harder to find you while overloaded)
-Agility upgrade(available at 50, upgrades agility +1)
-Hiding while using heavy weapon(available at 30, makes it harder to find you while using heavy weapon)

3.Support
-----Repair
-Repair level 1 items(available at 10)
-Repair level 2 items(available at 40)
-Intellect upgrade(available at 50, upgrades intellect +1)
-Repair level 3 items(available at 70)
-Repair rare items(available at 80)
-----Modification
-1st level of crafting(available at 10)
-2nd level of crafting(available at 40)
-Intellect upgrade(available at 50, upgrades intellect +1)
-3rd level of crafting(available at 70)
-4th level of crafting(available at 100)
-----Presicion
-Presicion with rifles(availavle at 10, decreases durability loss)
-Presicion with assault rifles(availavle at 20, decreases durability loss)
-Presicion with heavy weapon(availavle at 30, decreases durability loss)
-Agility upgrade(available at 50, upgrades agility +1)
-----Packing
-Strenth upgrade(available at 50, upgrades strenth +1)
-Max weight(available at 60, increases max weight for 10 kg)
-----Medecine
-Good doctor(avalable at 40, incrases good effects time for 20%)
-Intellect upgrade(available at 50, upgrades intellect +1)
-----Luck
-Ammo drop(available at 30, decreases ammo drop chance for 30%)
-Weapon drop(available at 40, decreases weapon dron chance for 30%)
-It is mine!!(available at 60, decreases drop chance of all items for 30%)

Awesome guide.But theres one thing,in game we have few types of weapons(automatic rifles,sniper rifles,smg's,shotguns,handguns).My question is which one from those stats is for smg's(like skorpion) and which one is for shotguns?

Its a good question. Im going to write a weapon guide some time during this week.

As far as i remember, shotguns are related to rifles and melee guns... and scorpion... i guess he is related to the assault rifles, but Im not quite sure, need to check it.
